I’m walking across the school yard outside the science labs when this kid comes right up to my face. He has one hand in his bag. I must have looked like I was about to pass out with fear, because that’s how I felt. “I’ll be watching you this weekend. I know where you live. If you go out of your front door, I’ll be waiting for you with my gun, and I’ll shoot you. I’ll kill you. Got it?” I believed him.

Pride. What’s it supposed to be?

I woke up after Brighton Pride exhausted and happy, but also wondering whether I’d been to a Pride at all. Was it not just a concert in the park? I’d had a fantastic time, but couldn’t help thinking about whether partying, and commercial advertising, is really what Pride is suppose to be about.
